Prince of Mercy degree

The Prince of Mercy degree is the 26th Masonic degree on the USA degree ladder. It involves a mystical extra-biblical baptism, which remarkably purports to spiritually purify the Masonic candidate.

Freemasonry mimics the two fundamental sacraments of the Christian Church - baptism and communion.

(1) They perform a blasphemous Black Mass in the Knights Templar degree when they drink communion from a human skull-cap in a Christ mocking occult ceremony.

(2) They perform a Christless esoteric baptism in the 'Prince of Mercy' degree when the pour water over the deluded candidate and blasphemously teach, in catechism form,

Q. What are the symbols of the purification necessary to make us perfect Masons?
A. Lavation with pure water, or baptism; because to cleanse the body emblematical or purifying the soul."

When Freemasonry pours water over the deluded candidate and tell him it symbolises "the purification necessary to make us perfect Masons" they make a mockery of the biblical Christian ordinance of baptism and do despite to God's ONLY provision for sin and uncleanness - the Lord Jesus Christ - and his atoning work at Calvary.

Every practice employed within secret societies is carefully designed to counterfeit and undermine important elements within Christian teaching. As we analyse this superstitious ceremony, we discover a subtle design to mimic the biblical practice of believers' baptism.

Romans 6:3-8 explains the important symbolic significance of believers' baptism and its relationship to the new birth: "Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. For he that is dead is freed from sin. Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him."

The act of using water as a symbolic act of purification is a common pagan custom, which is carefully designed to make a mockery of God's only means for cleansing vile sinners - the blood of His dear Son. All the outward cleansing rites manufactured by Masonry, Mormonism or any other cult can never wash away a man's innate sin.

The born again Christian ALONE can joyfully sing with the hymn writer:

"What can wash away my stain?
Nothing but the blood of Jesus,
What can make me whole again?
Nothing but the blood of Jesus."

The way by which God pardons a man's sin, is through the shedding of blood. The Bible clearly says, "without shedding of blood is no remission" (Hebrews 9:22).

Christ paid the believers' penalty in full by His vicarious atoning death, thus relieving him fully of his guilt, and purchasing his complete redemption. 1 Peter 1:18-19 says, "Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot."

Like all secret societies, Freemasonry assaults the mighty NAME of the Lord Jesus Christ and despises the atoning power of the blood. However, the Bible admonishes us, "If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin" (I John 1:6-7).

We continually find the bold assumption throughout the whole Masonic degree system that all Masons go to heaven, whilst ignoring the clear scriptural requirements of true faith and repentance. The Bible says: "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation" (Romans 10:9-10).
